JumpStart Parent Education Conference

The Annual JumpStart Parent Education Conference inspires, connects, and motivates parents as they kick off the school year. The conference features a keynote address, over 50 educational break-out sessions, and the opportunity to network with other parents. Break-out sessions include various topics to address the needs of TK-12 students, from learning to read to preparing seniors for college. This event is free for all Classical Academy parents.

Tips for the Day

Venue

Our conference will be held at the Classical Academy High School Studio campus at 207 East Pennsylvania Avenue in Escondido. The opening keynote session will take place in Caiman Hall. Please arrive early to allow time for parking and breakfast. 

Parking

Carpooling or taking the Sprinter is highly recommended. Parking is available at the public lot located at the California Center for the Arts, a short walk from Classical Academy High School (CAHS). Shuttles between the public lot and CAHS are available from 7:00 am to 1:00 pm.

Breakfast

Complimentary breakfast burritos and brewed coffee will be served from 7:30 am to 8:00 am while supplies last. Due to the size of our group, we’re unable to accommodate specific dietary restrictions. You're more than welcome to bring your own breakfast if preferred.

We encourage all attendees to bring a reusable water bottle; hydration stations will be available throughout the venue.

Workshops

Breakout Sessions are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Feel free to bring laptops and tablets to take notes or browse resources. Wireless internet will be available throughout the day. Classrooms are climate-controlled, but they can sometimes feel chilly. Please dress in layers as it will be warm outside.

By registering for and attending this event, you grant The Classical Academy, Inc., The Classical Academy Foundation, and its officers, employees, agents and partners (collectively "TCA") the irrevocable right to record, photograph, and/or livestream your image, likeness, and voice during the event. These materials may be used for promotional, educational, or informational purposes, including but not limited to websites, social media, publications, and other media platforms, without further permission or compensation.

If you do not wish to be photographed or recorded, please inform our crew or staff and avoid the areas in front of our cameras. By remaining in the immediate vicinity, you are giving TCA consent to film or photograph you.

Your participation in the event constitutes your consent to this policy.

Assumption of Risks, Indemnification, Release and Consent for Emergency Treatment Agreement

Participant requests and is granted permission to participate in the Jumpstart Parent Conference, hereinafter called “Activity,” sponsored by The Classical Academy, Inc. and North County Education Foundation, hereinafter collectively called “TCA.”

In consideration of being permitted to participate in any way in Activity, Participant, for himself/herself,  his/her heirs, personal representatives or assigns, does hereby release, waive, discharge, and covenant not to sue TCA, its officers, employees, and agents from liability from any and all claims including the negligence of TCA, its officers, employees and agents, resulting in personal injury, accidents or illnesses (including death), and property loss arising from, but not limited to, participation in Activity.

Assumption of Risks: Participant acknowledges and fully understands that there are or may be hazards and risks, including all risks associated with COVID-19, incident to participation in this Activity that cannot be eliminated regardless of the care taken to avoid injuries including losses that may result not only from Participant’s own actions, inactions or negligence, but also from the actions, inactions or negligence of others, from the condition of the facilities, equipment, or areas where Activity is being conducted, and/or related to the specific type of activity. The specific risks vary from one activity to another, but the risks range from 1) minor injuries such as scratches, bruises, and sprains to 2) major injuries such as eye injury or loss of sight, joint or back injuries, heart attacks, and concussions to 3) catastrophic injuries including paralysis or death. Participant understands that TCA assumes no responsibility of any nature whatsoever for the actions of Participant or any other person or entity involved in this Activity.

Participant has read the previous paragraphs and knows, understands, and appreciates these and other risks that are inherent in the Activity. Participant hereby asserts that participation is voluntary and knowingly assumes such risks.

Indemnification and Hold Harmless: Participant also agrees to indemnify and hold TCA harmless from any and all claims, actions, suits, procedures, costs, expenses, damages and liabilities, including attorney’s fees brought as a result of his/her involvement in Activity or for contribution or indemnification with respect to any claim made against Participant by any other person or entity in connection with Activity, and to reimburse them for any such expenses incurred.

Consent for Emergency Treatment: Participant certifies that he/she is in good health and has no physical condition that would prevent participation in Activity. Participant authorizes TCA administrators, and its designated representatives to consent, on Participant’s behalf, to any emergency medical/hospital care or treatment to be rendered. Participant agrees to be responsible for all necessary charges incurred by any hospitalization or treatment rendered pursuant to this authorization. Participant understands that coverage is not provided by TCA.

Severability: Participant further expressly agrees that the foregoing is intended to be as broad and inclusive as is permitted by the law of the State of California and that if any portion thereof is held invalid, it is agreed that the balance shall, notwithstanding, continue in full legal force and effect.

Acknowledgement of Understanding: Participant has read this waiver of liability, assumption of risk, consent and indemnity agreement, fully understands its terms, and understands that, by registering for Activity, he/she is giving up substantial rights, including the right to sue.  Participant acknowledges that he/she is entering into this agreement freely and voluntarily, and intends it to be a complete and unconditional release of all liability to the greatest extent allowed by law.
